Albert M. Lakis, 81, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2009. He proudly served his country and received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy on July 26, 1954 and was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Bethpage, NY. He was Vice President of Credit Suisse Bank in NY before retiring in December 1982 and moving to Boynton Beach. He was a member of Cypress Creek Country Club, where he put on many golf tournaments, and was also a member of St. Thomas More Parish for 20 years. Albert was predeceased by his mother and father Mr. & Mrs. Michael Lakis of Brooklyn, NY, and his brother Michael Lakis of New City, NY. He is survived by his wife Martha Jean of 57 years of Boynton Beach; son Ronald Lakis and grandchildren Chelsea and Wesley of San Ramon, CA; son Richard Lakis and daughter-in-law Anne and grandson Ryan of Ellicott City, MD; daughter Donna Jean McCarthy and son-in-law Thomas and grandchildren Heather, Sean, and Michael of Ellicott City, MD; brother Joseph Lakis of Bethpage, NY; sister Josephine Patane of Flushing, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at BOYNTON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33426. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 9:30am at St. Thomas More Church, 10935 S. Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436.
