Alice Theresa Oostwouder, 85, of Lakeside Village, Lantana, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008. A joyful, energetic and intelligent woman, she left her print on many hearts from the Midwest to Southern Florida in her lifetime. Born in Alton, Iowa June 7, 1922, her parents were Henry and Cornelia Roghair. She graduated from Okaton High School, SD. Alice became a school teacher first at Interior, SD. After receiving her Master's Degree from Florida Atlantic University, she taught at Forest Park Elementary in Boynton Beach and at Plumosa Elementary in Delray Beach. She was a member of Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church for many years. She is survived by Cornelius, her husband of 52 years; children Dr. Peter (Joanna) Oostwouder, Shelby (Ana) Oostwouder; grandchildren Phoebe, Christina, Philip, Cornelius, Emily and Andrew. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the Boynton Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside Village Auditorium, 2792 Donnelly Drive in Lantana. Interment to follow at 2 p.m. at Boynton Beach Memorial Park.
