Obituary

Angie Russo, age 99, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 11, 1927, Angie was the beloved daughter of Frances and Matthew Mortillaro. She grew up surrounded by her siblings Margaret, Louis, Josie, Laura, and Rita, and carried the strong values of family, loyalty, and compassion throughout her entire life.

In 1949, Angie married the love of her life, Louis D. Russo, in Brooklyn, New York. Together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and devotion to family and friends.

Angie was known for her generous heart and unwavering willingness to help others. Whether caring for family members, friends, or those in her church community, she was often the first person to step forward when someone was in need. What began as helping hands frequently became months or even years of devoted caregiving.

Her kitchen was the heart of the home. Angie found great joy in cooking, baking, and making sure no one ever left her house hungry — even while lovingly reminding them they were “getting a little fat.” She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and many spirited games of Mah-Jong with family and friends.

Angie is survived by her loving daughter Brenda; her son Kenneth; daughter-in-law Paula; grandsons Austin (Nicole) and Spencer (Jen); great-grandson Connor Michael; her dear sister Rita; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis D. Russo; her parents, Frances and Matthew Mortillaro; and her dear in-laws, Emma and Dominick Russo, with whom she shared a close and loving household.

Angie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, humor, and endless generosity. Her love and care touched countless lives, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm Friday, May 22, 2026 at Boynton Memorial Chapel. Following the Visitation a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm at St Matthew Catholic Church, Lake Worth.

Angie will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Angie's memory to

St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
