Obituary

Ann M. Wunderlich Of Boynton Beach, Florida, was born Ann M. Scialpi April 19, 1923 to Anthony and Maria Scialpi in New York City. Ann passed away peacefully on November 6, 2007 after a long battle with chronic pulmonary disease. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Ed Wunderlich. For many years, Ed and Ann ran their company, the A&W Tool company in the Philadelphia area. Ann worked as Office Manager / Bookkeeper until they sold their company. They also lived for a period in Chicago, Wyncote, PA, and then in the Germantown area of Philadelphia. In their years in the Chicago and Philadelphia areas, Ann and Ed enjoyed an active community life in hospital charity work, boating, and entertaining family and friends. Ann and Ed twenty-five years ago moved to Lake Worth, living in the College Park area and later in Boynton Beach where they resided in Bent Tree Gardens West Condominiums. While in Lake Worth, Ann and Ed were active members of the Lake Worth Country Club where they enjoyed playing many rounds of golf together and with friends. After their retirement to Florida, Ann remained active in business for the Atlantic Ice Company as bookkeeper/"trouble shooter" under the ownership of Ann's dear friends Peter and Debbie Chilsom and later with the new owners, the Arthur Biggs family. For several years, she served as a valued member on The Board of the Bent Tree Gardens West Condominium Association. She was a daily communicant and active in several ministries at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (Boynton Beach) until her failing health curtailed such involvement. She enjoyed shopping, soap operas, dining out, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her late husband Ed, Ann was pre-deceased by three sisters, Grace, Mildred and Mary and one brother Joseph. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Helen Walpole, Mrs. Adeline Cicalese both of Whiting, NJ, and Mrs. Gloria McSweeny of Flushing, NY, and brother-in-law Carl Wunderlich. Ann is survived by one son Nicholas Ditulli and three grandsons. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19, 11:30 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in West Palm Beach with Fr. Depaul Ripko, OFM, Cap. presiding assisted by Deacon Greg Sherman. Those wishing to do so may make contributions to the "Ann M. Wunderlich Scholarship Fund," at Cardinal Newman High School, 512 Spencer Drive, West Palm Beach, Florida 33409.
