Obituary

Anthony D. Tedesco

January 14, 1928 - March 10, 2023

95 years

Anthony D. Tedesco of Boynton Beach passed away peacefully while in the care of hospice on Friday. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York on January 14th, 1928 to Eugene and Lena. Loving husband of Rose Tedesco (Battaglia); father of Barry (Maryann) and David; grandfather of Dawn, Nicholas, Danielle, Tyler (Kimmi), Austin, and Bianca; great-grandfather of Emily, Julia, Sophia, and Liliana. He is predeceased by his brother, Frank, and sister, Edith.

Tony's life was dedicated to service. A United States Navy veteran, he served for two years beginning in 1946, when he travelled through Europe on a goodwill tour following World War II. Later, his career was in service to the City of Mount Vernon, working in the Parks Department as a tree surgeon, as well as to the U.S. Postal Service, helping to sort and deliver the mail.

Tony and his beloved wife of 73 years moved from New York to Boynton Beach in 1994 to enjoy their retirement years together. In his retirement, he enjoyed many games of tennis and billiards at the clubhouse. Most of all, he knew how to take it easy, relaxing in his recliner chair while watching TV or reading the paper.

Family was everything to him, always telling everyone how proud he was of his sons, his grandkids, and great-grandkids. His family remembers so many great holidays together - no Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner could begin before Tony declared his signature blessing, "Commence firing!"

He will be forever in our hearts and his smile will be forever missed.
