Barry Steven Collins, 71, peacefully passed away December 31, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. Barry lived in Boynton Beach, FL with his wife Cynthia Collins.
He was born in Charlotte, NC to Wink and Barbara Collins. He graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, where he wrestled on the varsity wrestling team. He attended Appalachian State University and UNC-Charlotte. He served as a member of the NC National Guard.
Barry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was a true "people person" and the life of every party. He lived his life to the fullest, bringing a smile to the face of everyone he encountered. He never met a stranger. He loved his family, his dog Rocky, good music, and always saw the best in every situation.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Collins. Barry is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Boynton Beach, FL. He is also survived by his daughter, Lorrie Campbell, her husband Brett, and their children Holden and Ansley Campbell, as well as his son, Wesley Collins, his wife Christina, and their children Kaylee and Chase Collins. Both of his children and his 4 grandchildren reside in Canton, GA. He is also survived by his father, Wink Collins, his brother and wife Randy and Sherri Collins, as well as his brother and wife Wes and Lynn Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned for the Spring of 2021 in the Atlanta area. Details to follow.
