Obituary

Bernard "Bernie" N. Karcinell, 84 years of age, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022. He
was a beloved husband, a proud father to his three daughters and eight grandchildren, as well as
a friend and mentor to many.
Bernie was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1938. He was a graduate of New York University,
and before that, was a graduate of Lawrence High School, where he met his high school
sweetheart, Beatrice "Beatty" Karcinell, née Sarro. They married in 1961, and were married for
58 years, until her passing in 2019.
He is survived by many — his daughters, Lori Karcinell Webster (Keith), Randi Karcinell
Killelea (Joseph) and Wendy Karcinell Burkett (William); his grandchildren, Madison, Nolan
and Luke Webster; Katie, Abbey and Jack Killelea; and Samantha and Natalie Burkett; his
brother, Victor Karcinell, and wife Judy; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and members
of his loving extended family.
An avid tennis player, Bernie enjoyed sports, traveling and spending time with friends and
family.
Bernie was a CPA and practicing accountant until his passing. He was previously a partner at
KPMG LLP in New York, as well as president and CEO of two other companies. He served as a
Board Member for publicly traded Orbit International Corp., providing tax and finance advise to
select clients, and served as a Board Member for the organization Different Brains.
A Celebration of Life Service is December 17, 2022 at Boynton Memorial Chapel from 11am–
2pm, followed by a Reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to Different Brains in Bernie's name
are welcome.
