MARINAN, Brian Michael, age 72 of Greenacres, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on September 19, 2018 from cancer.
Brian is survived by his loving ex-wife and friend of fifty years Grace of Boynton Beach, FL, daughter Kimberly of Manchester, CT, son Dennis and his wife Cara of Boynton Beach, FL, his beloved grandchildren Alyssa, James, and Robert, his brothers James, Kevin (Sandra), and Brendan (Suzanne), as well as many nieces and nephews, and the many friends over the years.
Brian was born on January 5, 1946 in Hartford, CT to James and Helen Marinan. He grew up in West Hartford, CT graduating from Hall High School in 1964. He proudly attended the University of Connecticut, but earned his bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1986. Brian worked for The Hartford until 1983 at which time he and his family moved to Florida. He worked for the Palm Beach County School Board in Risk Management for 30 years.
Brian was an avid golfer, who always said, "a bad day of golf is better than a good day at work". He was a sports enthusiast watching his favorite teams; New York Giants, Boston Red Sox, and UCONN Huskies. In retirement, Brian loved to play golf, play poker, spend time with his grandchildren, and travel to see friends and family.
The family will host Visitation at the Boynton Memorial Chapel at 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida or The American Cancer Society.
