Carmelo Dominguez (Papi) Sr., age 83, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away May 19, 2022 in his home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the son of the late Juan Dominguez and Ramona Chinea.
Carmelo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Dominguez; his sons, Carmelo "Chiwi" Dominguez, Jr. of New Oxford, Pennsylvania; Edwin "Eddie" Dominguez of Biglerville, Pennsylvania; his daughters, Carmen Dominguez of Lantana, Florida and Ivette Dominguez of Boynton Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carmelo Dominguez "CJ", Kyle Dominguez, Sasha L. Dominguez, Heriberto Olavarria "Macho", Sianna Dominguez, Milagro "Mia" Rios, Sheridan Dominguez, Nyisha Marchan, Elijah Rios, Destiny I. Salinas, Lilaishka N. Dominguez, Lilliana Dominguez; great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Carmelo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and daughter, Lynette M. Dominguez.
Carmelo was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on November 5, 1938. He was a lifelong active member of the Catholic Church. He was a member of Cursillo as well as an Usher for the Church. He retired from Rice Fruit Company and had several business and real estate ventures. He enjoyed serving the Church and helping others expecting nothing in return. He was a Godfather of many, loving them as if they were his own. He was known for his kindness, giving heart and example. Carmelo always put his family first, making sure he provided for them and that they were all protected and educated in religion and life. He was famous for his delicious empanadas and cooking. He loved landscaping and gardening. He touched many lives that will always be grateful but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation in celebration of Carmelo's life on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Boynton Memorial Chapel at 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, Fl 33426 and on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. for a mass of Christian Burial at Emmanuel Catholic Church, at 15700 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach, Fl 33484 Interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, at 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, Fl 33411. Reception will be held at Columbus Hall at Emmanuel Catholic Church immediately after.
