IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmen
Silla
November 16, 1928 – December 19, 2025
Carmen Silla, born on November 16, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, peacefully went home to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 19, 2025, at the remarkable age of 97, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Raised in South Philadelphia, Carmen graduated from Southern High School, where the values of hard work, integrity, and faith that shaped his life first took root. These values guided him throughout his long and meaningful journey.
Carmen was the devoted husband of Josephine "Jo-Jo" Fierro. Together they shared an extraordinary 72 years of marriage, building a life grounded in love—love for God, love for family, and love for friends. Their marriage was a testament to faith, commitment, and enduring partnership.
Professionally, Carmen dedicated over 30 years as a store manager for Penn Fruit and Rite Aid, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike through his honesty and leadership. He also proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War and who was honorably discharged, a service he carried with quiet pride.
Outside of work, Carmen was a gifted and self-taught master fine carpenter. His hands created beauty and joy—grandfather clocks, harpsichords, coffee grinders, and music boxes—many of which were lovingly gifted to family and friends. His craftsmanship reflected not only remarkable skill, but also generosity and heart.
Carmen is survived by his beloved children: daughters Jessica Silla-White (Richard White) and Jennifer Silla-Schneider (Edward Schneider), and son Dominic Silla (Melissa D'Arco). He was a cherished grandfather to Austin White, Ashley White-Colombier (Xavier Colombier), Courtney Schneider (Ricky Gonzales), Brandon Schneider, Dominic Silla Jr. (Martha Emery), Basilio Silla, and Mia D'Arco, and a proud great-grandfather to Karissa Colombier, Arabella Colombier, Lola Gonzales, and Theodora Silla.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Community of Hope, 165 Ohio Road, Lake Worth, Florida 33467.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project HERE honoring Carmen's deep respect for those who served and sacrificed for our country.
Carmen loved God, loved his wife, and loved his family. He possessed a strong moral compass and unwavering integrity, always choosing what was right. To his children, he was their rock—steadfast, protective, and unconditionally loving. His legacy of faith, love, and righteousness will live on in all who were blessed to know him. He will be missed immensely.
