IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Tenebruso
July 4, 1939 – February 24, 2021
Carol passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2021. She was born in New York, NY on the 'Fourth of July', 1939. She was preceded in death by her dad, Albert; mother, Rose and brother-in-law, Len. She is survived by her loving sister, Marie and many close cousins and friends whom she adored.
Carol graduated William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ in 1961 and began her teaching career at Roberge Elementary School in River Vale, NJ. She was a dedicated teacher for 36 years and had such an enormous love for children…they just seemed to gravitate to her. The classroom was her 2 nd home. She retired in 1997 and moved to Florida in 2000. Her love of children and teaching continued for 12 years volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at Hagen Road Elementary School in Boynton Beach. She also volunteered at the St. Thomas More Gift Shop and the C.O.P. (Citizen Observer Patrol) in the community.
News of her passing has resulted in an outpouring of love from her ex-students, parents, teachers and friends sharing their remembrances of "Miss T", as she was called. She is remembered for the bubble gum parties after learning math facts, and as an influential teacher who made every student feel special. Some were inspired to follow in her footsteps and become teachers themselves.
Carol took many trips during her lifetime: Italy, France, Japan, Ireland, the Scandinavian countries and many more. She was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, enjoyed watching football and tennis, and also playing canasta and mahjong with her friends. She also loved to bake and cook and her homemade ravioli, manicotti and stuffed peppers were relished by visiting family and friends.
Carol was a very private person…filled with love that she shared with everyone she met. Most important was her faith, family and friends. She is now home in the arms of the Lord. She will be missed and will always be in our hearts.
