Obituary

Kosartes, Christo of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008 after a brief illness. He was 84 years old. Born March 17, 1924 in Lowell, MA he joined the US Navy in 1942 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married his wife Irene on May 9, 1948, and in two weeks they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They settled in Fort Lee, New Jersey where they raised their three children. Christo was a great lover of animals and owned several dogs and cats; he was always quick to "adopt" God's creatures, and had abundant love for all. Christo owned an automotive repair shop in Palisades Park, NJ for many years until moving to Florida in 1986. In his business his slogan was "miles of smiles" which reflected his good nature, quick smile and ever present sense of humor. Always a devoted and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was beloved by all and will be sorely missed by his family and community. Surviving are his wife Irene, his three children Joanne and her husband Nick of New York; John and his wife Jeanne of North Carolina and Cynthia and her husband Mark of New Jersey, one grandson, Christos, two step-granddaughters, Lara and Veronica, one step-grandson Nick, his sisters Evenor Varsames, Betty Waranuk, Mary Spanos, Susan Megas, Marina and her husband, Sam Hantzes, Carrie Hastings, Charlotte and her husband Robert Dehning, Theodore and Geri Kosartes and many nieces and nephews.
