IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia Vollmer
Clarke
January 24, 1954 – September 5, 2025
Cynthia Vollmer Clarke
Born January 24, 1954 – Passed September 5, 2025
In the early hours of September 5, 2025 Cynthia "Cindy" Vollmer Clarke passed away due to complications from a newly diagnosed illness.
For her family and community, Cindy's presence was steady and strong—the kind of love you didn't have to ask for because it was always there. She supported and advocated for anyone that needed her special kind of strength. She was endlessly generous with her time and energy and her home was warm and welcoming to all.
Cindy was born in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, on January 24, 1954 and grew up in Birmingham, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University where she was a player on the first women's Spartan Golf team. After college she moved to Dallas, Texas, and met her perfect match. Cindy always said David was exactly what she needed and all that knew them could see this was a love meant for a lifetime.
David and Cindy raised their children in Dallas, Texas, where life was always in motion. Filled with sports and family dinners, it was a joyful chaos grounded in love and togetherness. As a mother, she was gentle when it mattered, but fierce when it counted. If you were hers, you were never alone. Her seven grandchildren lovingly called her CiCi and will hold memories of her riding roller coasters, baking cookies, and swimming in the lake.
While raising a family, she also carved out a meaningful and accomplished career. She was a Certified Public Accountant and ultimately started her own financial consulting firm, C&H Advisory Inc, in 1992 that at its peak, employed more than fifty people. Her motivation to succeed was driven by her desire to support the people and organizations she believed in.
Later in life, David and Cindy moved to Quail Ridge Country Club in Florida where Cindy built a loving community. Cindy served many roles in the Quail Ridge Ladies Golf Association, including terms as Second Vice President, First Vice President and President. Cindy had limitless determination and confidence in everything she did and managed to break records at their annual fundraiser, Rally for Charity. It was during this time that Cindy reignited her passion for golf. With several Road Cup invitations, she was an accomplished player with a deep love of the game. Being on the course brought her so much joy, whether it was with a seasoned player or someone picking up a club for the first time.
Cindy was preceded in death by her brother John (Johnny) Edwin Vollmer III; her mother Betty Jane (B.J.) Vollmer (née Wright); her grandparents John Edwin Vollmer and Eileen Margaret Vollmer (née Simons), Jesse William Wright and Dolly Wright (née Marsh) and brother-in-law Gene William Heck.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Cosby Clarke; her children, David (Buddy) Cosby Clarke, Jr. and his wife Beth and their children David (Tripp) Cosby Clarke III and Lillian (Lily) Kathleen Clarke, Charles (Charlie) Vollmer Clarke and his wife Linna, Kathryn (Katie) Lee Mouallek and her husband Frawsen and their children Annie Irathen Mouallek, Timothée Amazigh Mouallek, and Lola Tiziri Mouallek, and Jane (Janie) Clarke de la Croix-Vaubois and her husband Chris and their children Kaylee June de la Croix-Vaubois and Bodie Clarke de la Croix-Vaubois; her sister, Adrienne Vollmer Heck; her sister-in-law Radonna Marie Vollmer; her father, John Edwin (Jack) Vollmer, Jr. and his wife Libbie; her uncle, Richard (Dick) Henry Vollmer and his wife Janet, and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews and other family.
Though she is no longer with us, her love remains in all the ways she helped shape who we are. We will miss her more than words can say, but we are endlessly grateful for every moment we had with her.
Cindy always loved wearing bright colors to funerals in celebration of life. We invite you to do the same as we celebrate Cindy on September 11th at 11am at St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483. and on September 18th at 2pm at The Church of the Incarnation, 3966 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204.
