Denise Brochu, aged 83, died peacefully surrounded by her family and close friends on January 7, 2018, in Delray Beach after a sudden but brief struggle with pneumonia. Denise was born December 1, 1934, in Sainte-Marie, Quebec, the daughter of Earnest Brochu and Margarite Voyer.

Denise loved gardening and found great joy in taking care of her beautiful flowers.  She was also a skilled seamstress who could stitch up and stitch together almost anything.  In addition, her French heritage was evident in anything that came from her kitchen.  She particularity loved to share her delicious homemade candies with family, friends, and neighbors.

In 1955, Denise married the love of her life Yvon Brochu in Quebec, Canada following his service in the Canadian Army during the Korean War.  In 1968 they adopted a son, Martin, and in 1969 adopted a daughter, Manon.  Manon and Martin were immediately the center of their lives together and were loved immensely.

In 1975, the family moved to Fort Lauderdale where they bought and later grew a successful motel business.  They sold the business in 1986 and bought their first motor home, spending many adventurous years touring the United States and Canada during the summer months.  They moved to the Boynton Beach area in 2000.

Denise was one of 10 children and is survived by her sister, Raymond Allard; her husband Yvon Brochu; son, Martin Brochu of Ontario, Canada and Manon Brochu of Atlanta, GA.

A life celebration service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10am at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 West Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach, FL 33426. Flowers or memorial donations to your local Salvation Army are appreciated.
