IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald V.
Brown
December 23, 1933 – February 7, 2021
Donald Victor Brown passed away peacefully at home, on February 7, 2021 surrounded by love and support from family and friends near and far. Don was 87.
Don was born in Buffalo, New, York on December 23, 1933 to William and Marguerite (Kehoe) Brown.
He and his wife Janice Norton Brown recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were the love of each other's life and boy would Don's eyes light up and his smile brighten when his "Honey Jan" walked into the room. It was the strong love they shared that got them through life's ups and downs.
Don was a prince among men and a fighter. He faced every challenge with passion and determination. He was a proud man with a desire to do good in the world. Don valued education and was devoted to his alma mater, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, his whole life. His time as a member of the Armed Services was a source of immense pride for him. Don worked hard and was a respected member of the business community, as founder and owner of D.V. Brown and Associates, Inc. He gave energy and leadership to many community organizations throughout his life. He was proud of his heritage and he loved everything Irish. Don was the guy his family and friends would call to help, and he never let them down. He loved to make people laugh, and with his quick wit it was easy for him to do just that. He enjoyed both a good game and a lousy game of golf. Don cheered on the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres, regardless of the standings. He found peace at the beach in Canada. He taught his children and grandchildren about the important things in life and what it means to give back. Through both tough times and better times, Don focused on what it really means to live a spiritual life.
Don proudly called Buffalo his hometown his entire life. He and Jan spent more than 20 years as members of the Boynton Beach, Florida community, having adventures and making many special friends.
He is survived by his wife Janice, his brother Rev. William J. Brown of Toronto, Ontario, his daughter Kathleen Brown and her partner Norris Lee of Windham, Maine, his son Donald V. Jr. and his wife Ann Brown of Buffalo, New York, and his grandchildren Amanda Brown of Boston, MA, Megan Brown of Buffalo, New York, Nathaniel Curtisbrown of Portland, Maine, and Gabriel Curtisbrown of Portland, Maine. He also leaves behind special cousins, nieces and nephews and all of their families. The family is so very grateful to Maria DiCarlo and Tom Sinclair for the attention, love and support they provided to Don during his last days.
May Don rest in peace. We love him dearly and he will be missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Boynton Beach Memorial Chapel at 8:30 am, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Matthew Catholic Church in Lake Worth at 10:00 o'clock. Interment will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
