Born January 10, 1954 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Alma Owen and Edward Joseph Britsch, Jr. Died May 5, 2011, Boynton Beach, Florida. Edward was a 1972 graduate of Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, where he played French horn in the band. He received his US Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB and received further training as an air conditioning and refrigeration specialist. He served from 1972 to 1976 at Air Force radar stations on the coasts of Oregon and Washington, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Edward earned an Associate of Arts degree from Palm Beach Junior College in May 1979 (graduated with honors). After the Air Force, he returned to Palm Beach County and became an operator of water reclamation facilities for the Water Utilities Department of Palm Beach County, serving for 27 years. He is survived by his mother, Alma Owen Britsch, of Inverness, FL, his sister, Loretta (Andrew) Rein and his niece, Becky Rein, of Rolling Hills Estates, CA. He is predeceased by his father, Edward Britsch, Jr. Funeral arrangements by BOYNTON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 800 West Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach (561-734-5600). Visitation at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Service follows at 7:00 pm. Officiating will be H. Parker Bennett, assistant to the Pastor at Faith United Methodist Church, Boynton Beach.
