Obituary

It is with profound sadness our family announces the unexpected passing of Elizabeth Anne Carres on May 20 th , 2022.  She was better known to her friends as Beth and to her 15 grandchildren, affectionately as, "Nanny".  She was born on December 19 th , 1954 in Saratoga Springs, NY. She spent much of her life in Florida and was introduced to her high school sweetheart, Jon Carres, by her one of her best friends.  Beth and Jon were married on January 10 th , 1976 and spent the next 46 years of her life together welcoming, loving, and raising their 7 children.

Beth was a daughter, a wife, a sister, and a devout Catholic, but to all who knew her, what defined Beth's life most on this earth was motherhood. She volunteered over many years as a La Leche League leader and assisting at Birthline, mentoring new mothers through a Catholic worldview, which was then demonstrated in the support of her own children in their journey of parenthood. She spent most weekends getting together with family for holidays, birthdays, and sporting events. She treasured the proximity to her children and loved bestowing her maternal wisdom onto her sons, daughters, and their spouses.

Beth was kind, fiercely passionate about her opinions and her children, and lived for family traditions.

Ultimately, after her tragic and abrupt passing, she was received in Heaven by her son Shaun, her mother and father, and two brothers, Michael and Mark.

Left to endlessly mourn and cherish Beth's memory will be her husband Jon Carres, her children Timothy and his wife Tiffany Carres, Megan and her husband Victor Prieto, Bridget and her husband Nicholas Newsum, Caitlin and her husband Joshua Hall, Shannon Carres, and Nicholas Carres, as well as her 15 grandchildren.

The visitation will be held at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33426, on Monday, May 30 th , 2022 at 10:00AM. Beth's funeral service will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 S Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436, on Tuesday, May 31 st , 2022 at 10:00AM. And lastly, following this ceremony Beth will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
