IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Jane
Donnelly
March 8, 1929 – September 28, 2023
Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Donnelly, 94, of Lantana, Fla, passed away peacefully in West Palm Beach on September 28.
She was born in Miami, Fla in 1929 to Elizabeth and Hugh Browning. She was always proud of her Florida roots.
She grew up in Trenton, NJ, where she married Charles Donnelly in 1950. They had three beloved daughters, Maureen, Ellen (Sissy), and Ann. Upon learning that her husband was terminally ill, she found her vocation in nursing and graduated from Mercer County Vocational School in 1970. She earned her degree as an LPN and worked as a nurse well into her 70s. Making sure her family was cared for was of tantamount importance to her. She decided to relocate to Lantana in the late 70's to be close to her three daughters.
Our mom had a strong Catholic faith her entire life. She attended mass daily at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana well into her 80s. She was generous in volunteering her time to the church for nearly two decades. She embodied the true meaning of the Catholic faith. She illustrated this in her kindness and service to others throughout her life.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Hugh K. Browning, her husband Charles Donnelly, her daughter Maureen, and her only sister Patricia (Patsy) Janda, and brother-in-law Donald Janda.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Paul) Davis, of Boynton Beach and Ann Sias, of Jupiter. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lauren (Robby) Murphy, Taylor Sias, and Shaun (Sara) Davis. She had three great grandchildren, Eli, Ben, and Rachael. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Lourdes Noreen McKeen in West Palm Beach. We'd also like to thank Trustbridge Hospice for making her final days peaceful and free of pain.
Condolences can be sent to Boynton Memorial Chapel. Boynton Beach, Florida. (boyntonmemorialchapel.com).
She will be interred at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach alongside her beloved daughter, Maureen (Mo) who passed away in 2021.
Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lantana, or League of Women Voters (www.lwv.org ).
