Ellen A. George, age 94, passed away January 1, 2015. She was born in Toronto, Canada on September 7, 1920. She was the only child of Fred and Ellen Hilliard.
In her youth, Ellen was a musician. She gave accordion lessons and performed with big bands in Toronto, which is how she met her future husband, John S. George, who served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. After the war, Ellen and her husband opened an appliance business in Toronto, which they owned for 25 years until they retired and moved to Florida. In 1972, they founded the House of Frames in Lake Worth, Florida.
Ellen was a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother, and a tender and devoted wife to her husband of 69 years, who predeceased in February of 2011. Ellen is survived by her son, John F. George, his wife, Marta, and her grandchildren, John and Allison.
A Memorial Service will be held 6pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 West Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL.
