ESTHER YAMILETH TIETZ

Esther Yamileth Tietz, loving wife and mother of two, passed away peacefully at the age of 46 at her residence in Boynton Beach, FL, on Saturday May 16, 2020. Her caring family was by her side as she entered the presence of God.

Esther was born on August 4, 1973, in  Venezuela. She married Mark Tietz on December 19, 2004, in Miami. They resided in Boynton Beach, FL, for over 15 years, with their son, Steven (12) and daughter, Gabriela (10).

Gabriela often says, "I can't believe she is not here anymore." True, she is with her Lord now. We know this because God is faithful and true. "I trust your mercy. My heart finds joy in your salvation" Psalm 13:5.

Esther had a joy and love that can only be attributed to her relationship with Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Esther will be remembered for her infectious laughter and unyielding faith. She had a way of piercing right through to the important points of life with her questions and care. One friend wrote, "You were always a cheerful person looking to help," and another said, "You had an impact on me, and helped me into the person I am today." Another wrote, "Your faith made me a stronger person and believer."

Esther will be sorely missed, but we are thankful for the stories we shared together.  "All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story" (K. Blixen).

Esther was brought up in a hard-working family in Venezuela. Her dad Marcos was a welder who made fences and doors, and her mom Esther is a homemaker, church singer, and teacher. Esther was close to her younger brother Germán since she was often given babysitting duties. Her other sibling Marcos was also a loyal, hard-working brother. After high school, Esther went to college and then used her degree as an accountant at a school before moving to America.

At La Cathedral del Pueblo in Miami, FL, many remember her for her work in the children's ministry. Her beloved pastor Yolanda Eden married Esther and Mark there, and after Esther's passing wrote, "We remember her with love and appreciation for the work she did." Others remember her for her smile and her love for her work and the kids. As a leader, she powered through to completion many Christmas plays that brought the joy of her Savior's birth to the Sunday morning services.

Esther learned English mid-life as she moved to Broward and later, Palm Beach County. Her stay and work with the Zionts family helped her English. She became forever friends with every member of their family. Her love and appreciation of such a wonderful family continued all the rest of her life.

Esther met her husband Mark Tietz in Boca Raton, FL, when she was looking for an advanced English course and Mark was visiting a Christian singles meeting for the first time. After a few months they got married and had a large multicultural celebration reception in Coral Gables. She wore a custom Venezuelan dress and performed a dance with her brother Germán.

Esther and Mark had the joy of bringing two beautiful children into the world.  They thanked God that both children were healthy. They were everything to Esther. When Gabriela was born, she was the first girl on Mark's side of his extended family after 11 boys.

When Esther was pregnant with Gabriela, one shocking sentence changed her life.  A doctor told Esther and Mark that they needed to have the baby that very day, and that Esther would start chemotherapy a few days later. After the birth of a wonderful baby girl, Esther was told that she had stage 4 breast cancer and that it already had spread to her liver and lymph nodes. Esther, through prayer and faith plus some amazing medicine, turned a two year life expectancy into 10+ years. Battling through complete remission of the cancer twice and the disappointments of its return, she never wavered in her faith and commitment to her family, friends, and God.

Every year Esther would amaze her doctors and friends that she looked like, and had the energy of, someone without cancer -- always cheerful and never complaining. Although she had bi-monthly trips to the clinic and doctors, she enjoyed life to the fullest. To this day, many on her Facebook page (link below) can't believe that someone so full of joy has left her earthly life so prematurely.

She never let any issues overcome her attitude and energy. Esther was a wonderful mom. She kept daily devotionals with her children, telling them of the love of Jesus and how to love others. She even got a real estate license and sold three properties all within her treatment time. She led efforts and contributed funds to get care packages of food and supplies to family and churches in Venezuela as they suffer through recession and poverty.

She enjoyed her vacations immensely, breaking away from the normal daily struggles as well as her cancer battle. She and Mark traveled twice to Europe along with her best friend Viviana and husband Bryan. They visited Paris, Rome, Venice, and Florence. She loved vacationing with the family at Disney, San Francisco, and the yearly family camp at Bethany Camp (NY).

In the fall of 2019, her tenth year of cancer, Esther walked into University of Miami Health Hospital for a procedure to insert a small port under her scalp. It took a deadly bacteria (Listeria) acquired in the procedure, and the growth of cancer in the brain, to overcome the courageous life energy of Esther. In the end, the Lord was gracious with a peaceful ending without the extreme pain typically experienced with metastasis to the brain.

Esther was preceded in death by her father Marcos and her father-in-law Ronald W. Tietz. She is survived by her husband Mark and her two children Steven (12) and Gabriela (10). She is also survived by her side of the family including her mother Esther, and her brothers Germán and Marcos and his wife Adalgise and their daughter Damelis. She is also survived by her marriage family in Pittsburgh, PA, namely mother-in-law Gail Tietz, sister-in-law Janet Tietz, brother-in-law Jonathan Tietz and wife Kathy, and nephews Jadon and Nathan and niece Kaylee.   Esther will be sorely missed at Christmas time in Pittsburgh which she enjoyed so much. Other family members who were close to Esther and comforted her through her treatment were her Aunt Susan Kropff and husband Neal from Miami, FL.

We want to give special recognition to Roberto and Francis Sosa of Eagles Wings Prophetic Ministry, Inc. They are a small ministry with big hearts, who encouraged Esther and mentored her through the rough waves of life.

The family asks any donations to go to two places where Esther's heart went many times with funds and prayers. The first is Eagles Wings Prophetic Ministry, Inc., which blesses South Florida and ministers in person to countries like Argentina, Colombia, and Peru. The second is to Esther's brother Germán and family in Venezuela as they are going through much hardship as we see weekly on the news.

Se que también Dios ha designado llevarte a un lugar especial junto a él ya que eres hija de un rey y perteneces a su realeza y tú eres esa princesa. Le doy gracias a Dios por haberme dado la dicha de ser madre de esa hija que fue siempre alegre, valiente, guerrera, luchadora, buena esposa, buena hija buena hermana, buena amiga y sobre toda buena madre y les enseñaste a tus hijos la palabra del señor Jesús hasta lo ultimo y termino con texto bíblico.

(Dear daughter, you leave us a great pain for your departure. I know that God has designated to take you to a special place with him since you are the daughter of a king and you belong to his royalty and you are that princess. I thank God for having given me the happiness of being the mother of my daughter who was always happy and a brave warrior, fighter, good wife, good daughter, good sister, good friend and above all good mother and you taught your children the word of the Lord Jesus to the end and I conclude with a bible verse.  Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. (Psalm 116:15)

Mi amada hermana, es imposible expresar con palabras lo que fuiste, eres y serás para mí. Una mujer leal, fiel, valiente, sincera, fuerte, colaboradora, servicial, única, genuina, muy alegre y temerosa de Dios. Un ejemplo a seguir, siempre recordaré las enseñanzas, las lecciones, la protección y ayuda que me diste. Algún día nos encontraremos en la gloria de nuestro padre celestial.

(My beloved sister, it is impossible to express in words what you were, are, and will be for me. A loyal, faithful, brave, sincere, strong, collaborative, helpful, unique, genuine, incredibly happy, and God-fearing woman. An example to follow, I will always remember the teachings, the lessons, the protection, and help you gave me. Someday we will meet in the glory of our heavenly father.)

Mother-in-law (La Suegra) Gail:

My dear daughter-in-law, Esther, was a precious member of our family, always bringing joy, laughter and caring. She was loved much by my daughter, Janet, and they shared many sweet times together. Esther and I had a special and close relationship and I am thankful to the Lord for the love we shared for each other.

Her love and commitment to her Savior was always evident, and influenced many for the Lord. She is very much missed here, but for her there is joy for evermore with the Lord.

(Mi querida nuera Esther, era un miembro precioso de nuestra familia.Siempre traía alegría, risas y cariño. Mi hija Janet, la querida mucho y compartieron muchos momentos dulces juntas. Esther, my niece through her marriage to Mark, became a dear friend. Wherever we met to talk and laugh--at a doctor's office, a holiday dinner, or at our farm in TN--her favorite topics were family and faith.  I saw her use her health journey as a path toward self-knowledge and deepening her trust in God.  Every day I miss the way her smile and loving spirit could light up each space she entered.

Esther Yamileth Tietz, amada esposa y madre de dos hijos, falleció pacíficamente a la edad de 46 años en su residencia en Boynton Beach, FL, el sábado 16 de mayo de 2020. Su cariñosa familia estaba a su lado cuando entró en la presencia de Dios.

Esther nació el 4 de agosto de 1973 en  Venezuela. Se casó con Mark Tietz el 19 de diciembre de 2004 en Miami. Residieron en Boynton Beach, FL, durante más de 15 años, con su hijo, Steven (12) y su hija, Gabriela (10).

Gabriela a menudo dice: "No puedo creer que ya no esté aquí". Es cierto, ella está con su Señor ahora. Sabemos esto porque Dios es fiel y verdadero. "Confío en tu misericordia. Mi corazón encuentra gozo en tu salvación "Salmo 13: 5.

Esther tenía una alegría y un amor que solo se pueden atribuir a su relación con Jesucristo y por el poder del Espíritu Santo. Esther será recordada por su risa contagiosa y su fe inquebrantable. Esther fue criada en una familia trabajadora en Venezuela. Su padre Marcos era un soldador que hacía cercas y puertas, y su madre Esther es ama de casa, cantante de iglesia y maestra. Esther estaba cerca de su hermano menor, Germán, ya que a menudo le encargaban tareas de niñera. Su otro hermano, Marcos, también era un hermano leal y trabajador. Después de la escuela secundaria, Esther fue a la universidad y luego usó su título como contadora en una escuela antes de mudarse a Estados Unidos.

Esther y Mark tuvieron la alegría de traer dos hermosos niños al mundo. Agradecieron a Dios que ambos niños estaban sanos. Eran todo para Esther. Cuando Gabriela nació, ella fue la primera niña del lado de Mark de su extensa familia después de 11 varones.

Cuando Esther estaba embarazada de Gabriela, una noticia impactante cambió su vida. Un médico les dijo a Esther y Mark que necesitaban tener el bebé ese mismo día, y que Esther comenzaría la quimioterapia unos días después. Después del nacimiento de una niña maravillosa, a Esther le dijeron que tenía cáncer de seno en etapa 4 y que ya se había extendido a su hígado y ganglios linfáticos. Esther, a través de la oración y la fe, además de una medicina increíble, convirtió una esperanza de vida de dos años en más de 10 años. Luchando contra la remisión completa del cáncer dos veces y las decepciones de su regreso, nunca flaqueó en su fe y compromiso con su familia, amigos y Dios.
