Florence (Bunny) R. Glatthorn
Born November 16, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, the only child of Florence and Walter Foster. Florence grew up in north Philadelphia and was a graduate of Germantown High School in 1943. She was known as "the lovely blonde Flo all out for the war effort." Her
artistic ability was noted and she was employed by Whalen Studios in Philadelphia as a touch up artist. She also enjoyed hobbies in painting and ceramics.
Her love for the ocean began in Cape May, New Jersey where family vacations took her throughout her childhood and was the place she met her husband, Raymond Glatthorn. They married March 15, 1947 while Raymond was attending West Point Military Academy. While in the Army they were stationed in Kobe, Japan until family situations brought them back to the States. Upon returning to the States she settled in Miami, FL with Raymond and ran a family claim investigation firm, Walter Foster, Inc., for 32 years.
Bunny was a member of Miami Shores Presbyterian Church in Miami Shores, Florida and Faith United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach, Florida.
She was the loving mother of four sons, Donald, Kenneth, Douglas, and Thomas Glatthorn. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald and husband Raymond. She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Glatthorn married to Donna, Douglas Glatthorn married to Linda, and Thomas Glatthorn married to Patti. Seven grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Timothy Glatthorn, Ryan Glatthorn, Kathryn Mantor, Michael Glatthorn, Brandon Glatthorn, Brittany Etheridge.
Three great-granddaughters, Emma Grace Glatthorn, Sophie Mantor and Brooklyn Mantor.
She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and neighbor.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Park North Cemetery in Miami.
