Age 76 of Boynton Beach passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 29, 1937 in Greensboro, NC. Smitty proudly served in the US Army for 8 years, worked at Florida, Power and Light for 30 years, and was a police officer for 40 years. Although he was a hard worker with a successful career, nothing was more important than his family.
Smitty was predeceased by a granddaughter, Gina Sonne. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jeannette; his children, Garland and wife Andrea, Susan and husband Mike, Connie and husband Eric, Charmain and husband Donald, Ronald and Daniel; grandchildren, Whitney, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Greg, Chivaun, Joseph, Donald, Jonathan, Danielle, Tori, Destiney, Tiffany and Ann Marie; and 14 precious great-grandchildren.
Smitty was the kindest, jolliest man with the most animated laugh. He will truly be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held 4pm Monday, June 30, 2014 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:30pm Monday.
