Gayle Rita Frechette died peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2014 at the age of 46. Gayle is survived by her parents: Raymond and Rita Frechette of Boynton Beach, three brothers Bryan, of Beverly Hills, FL Wayne of Palm Beach Gardens, and Glynn of Denver, CO. She also leaves behind 4 nephews and 2 nieces, as well as her loving Aunt and caretaker Yvonne Tabor. Gayle will be greatly missed by her King Charles Cavaliers,
Gypsy and Mac.
Born on September 4, 1968 in Lowell, MA, Gayle moved with her family to Florida in 1986 and attended Florida State University. She transferred to Florida Atlantic University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. Upon graduation, Gayle received her Life Saving Certification and started a career teaching Water Safety at the former Mission Bay Swim School in Boca Raton. With a partner, she founded Broward Swim Academy in Coconut Creek; teaching swimming to children from ages 6 months and older. In 2006, Gayle started Boynton Swim Academy, her pride and joy, right up until her passing. Over the past 25 years, Gayle taught Water Safety to thousands of children in So. Florida; which she called her extended family. Her love and passion for her life's endeavors were evident in the joy she received with the accomplishments of her countless students.
To Gayle, love of family and friends was obvious in everything she did. The joy Gayle received in giving love and gifts was one of her great pleasures. She loved to shop, especially for others, and never passed up an "Open Box Item" or a bargain for the ones she loved. She was extraordinarily adept at everything from laying tile to running TV cable hook-ups. All of her brothers, parents, and friends relied on her to fix, hang, or repair any and all household problems they encountered. She loved watching "This Old House", and mastered many of the repair tips and installations that the show featured. No challenge was ever overwhelming to Gayle. If she could not initially master it, she would learn how.
Gayle's internal strength and determination were beyond explanation. All who knew her marveled at the fight and feistiness she displayed when faced with a challenge. She was opinionated and assertive; however there wasn't anyone that you wanted on your side more than Gayle. She was always persuasive and skillful in getting you to acquiesce to her point of view.
Her most recent battle was fighting Breast Cancer. All who knew her felt if anyone could "become a survivor" it would most certainly be Gayle. Sadly, after 4 years, she could fight no longer. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held 10am Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach.
Donations can be made in her memory to TrustBridge Hospice of Palm Beach County,
