George Avignon passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on December 21, 1938, in Haiti, George lived a life defined by love, joy, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
George was the beloved husband of Josette Avignon, his partner of 56 wonderful years. He was a devoted father and grandfather, taking his greatest joy in his daughter and grandchildren, Jackson and Jordan Steele.
Early in his career, George owned and operated a Sunnydale Farms grocery store, and later built a respected career with New Jersey Transit before retiring.
