Affectionately known as "The Big Kahuna", George, age 80, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Decatur, IL, and Indianapolis, IN, passed away Saturday, July 18th, 2009, and joins his loving wife, JoAnn, in heaven. He proudly served his country as a Marine from 1952-1954 and was in transportation for 60 years. George was loved by many friends and co-workers.
He is survived by two loving daughters, Sharon Ricketts of Huntsville, AL, and Jacquelyn Tarver of Deerfield Beach, FL; nieces Rebecca Woods of Boynton Beach, FL, and Jackie Lee Johnson of Davie, FL; granddaughters Tina Kemnitz of Decatur, IL, and Jennifer James of Mims, FL; and six great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25th, 2009, at 218 NW 17th Street, Delray Beach, FL. The family would like to give special thanks to the McCormick family and many other lifelong friends and neighbors.
