George Staelgraeve
Age 86 of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Monroe, MI, died March 3, 2009. He was born to Julius and Marie Staelgraeve in Trenton, MI on May 10, 1922. George served as a Corporal in the US Army during WWII. He was married to his wife, Gloria Burke on May 25, 1946. In Monroe, MI, George had been an electrical contractor and was owner of Staelgraeve Electric for many years. George moved to Florida in 1971 where he enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton, FL.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Julian, Victor, Achielle, Albert and Ralph; his sisters, Julienne, Julia, Rachel and Irma; and his son, John.
George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria; two daughters, Jean (Bill) Eicholtz of Delray Beach, FL and Judy (Jeff) Meadows of Duncan, SC; a granddaughter, Michelle (Aaron) Ward; a grandson, Michael Dyar; and three great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Jeoffrey and Gwendolynne Ward.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Ascension Catholic Church, Boca Raton, FL with entombment to follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum. A visitation will be held 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, March 6, 2009 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach, FL.
