With great sadness, our family mourns the loss of Giovanna Mezzasalma-Franco of Boynton Beach, Florida. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was a former resident of Paterson, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Franco and her grandson Charles Piekara.

She leaves behind her three devoted children; her daughter Providence Piekara and husband Deane of Boynton Beach, Florida and two sons Charles Franco and his wife Suzanne of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey and Frank Franco and wife Luisa of Wayne, New Jersey. She was a loving Grandmother to Jennifer Harris and her husband Ken, Deane Piekara Jr., Stephen Piekara and his wife Vanessa, Charles Franco and his wife Angela, Jourdan Braunstein and her husband Mark, Frank Franco Jr. and his wife Kimberley, Louis Franco and his fiancée Amanda, Brianna Franco, and Christopher Franco, and Julianna Franco. She enjoyed 8 great-grandchildren: Collette, Alexander, Ella, Adreana, Damien, Vincent, Giovanna, and Grayson.

Viewing will be held on Thursday December 15, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 West Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL (561) 734-5600. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 beginning at 10 am at St. Marks Catholic Church in Boynton Beach.
