Obituary

Mrs. Heather D. Berry of Boynton Beach, FL and West Harwich, MA died Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at Bethesda Hospital, Boynton Beach, FL. She was eighty years of age.

She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-nine years James O. Berry, sons Duncan and Alex Berry, grandchildren Charlotte Berry, Hannah Berry, Kendall Berry, James Berry, and sister Alexandra Herbertson of Ann Arbor, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held 1pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach.

Born 17 June 1934 in Toronto, ONT (Canada), she was the second daughter of the late Alexander David Duncan, former President of Glidden Paint Co., and the late Gladys Scott Duncan.

Mrs. Berry attended Ohio Wesleyan (Delaware, OH, Class of 1954) and American University (Washington, D.C.). She was married to syndicated editorial cartoonist Jim Berry and raised her family and ran homes in Lakewood, Oh, Washington, D. C., and in Boynton Beach, FL.

A keen competitor in golf and bridge, outspoken and passionate, Mrs. Berry loved classical music and gardening. Friends will recall her as a fine cook and thoughtful hostess, a seat at whose dinner parties was for many years a highly sought after prize. Mrs. Berry was a member of Junior League in Cleveland, OH and Washington, D. C., and more recently she volunteered at the Faith Farm Ministries.

Long active in club affairs at the Eastward Ho! Country Club (Chatham, MA), the Country Club of Florida (Village of Golf, FL), and the the Ocean Club of Florida (Ocean Ridge, FL), Mrs. Berry will be missed by friends, family, and competitors all along the East Coast.

In lieu of flowers, the deceased requested donations to Faith Farm Ministries in Boynton Beach, FL.
