Age 85 of Gulf Stream, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Irene was very active in the community as the President of the Boynton Women's Club, a member of the Boynton Book Club, a precinct leader for the Democratic Party of Palm Beach County, Vice President of the Democratic Women of the State of Florida and President of the Palm Beach County Democratic Women's Club. Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by two children, Max Burg and Karen Foix Pak. She is survived by her devoted husband, Martin Feeney; four children, Walter Burg, Cynthia Lawson, Susan Smith and John Burg; six grandchildren, Michelle Burg, Jon Foix, Nicole Foix, Taylor Burg, Walter Burg III and Cindy Burg; and stepchildren, John Feeney and Kathy Vella.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Delray Beach with entombment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach. Visitation hours will be held from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach.
