IRVING PINCUS (known by many of his old friends as "Pinky"), of Delray Beach, Florida passed away on May 25, 2022 at the age of 100 years, 8 months and 1 day
He is survived by son Bruce, grandchildren Bruce Jr. (Carmen), Steven (Daisy), and Keith, and great grandchildren Natalie, Michelle, Allen, Lily, Ryland, and Vanessa. He was predeceased by his wife, Ila L Purcell, parents Hyman and Molly Pincus, brother Louis (Shirley), sisters Betty (Paul) Shear, Pauline (Samuel) Smeltzer, Lilian (Jack) Wachs and grandson Gavin.
Raised in Rockaway Beach, NY, he met the love of his life, Ila, in Lewes, Delaware where they later married during World War 2. Returning home, he had a long career as a Journeyman Electrician in NYC Local 3. Some highlights were erecting the NYC "PAN AM" building signage 808 feet high, changing the aircraft warning light atop the Empire State Building radio tower, and dropping the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball.
An avid golfer, he moved to Kings Point, Delray Beach, FL upon retirement, where he played almost daily until age 95. He spent the final years of his life in Spotsylvania, VA. under the loving care of granddaughter-in-law Carmen and Bruce Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 10, 2022 at 1 PM at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, Florida.
