IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack Hagop
Gayegian
June 12, 1934 – August 20, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Hagop Gayegian of Boynton Beach, Florida. Jack passed away on August 20, 2024, under hospice care, with his daughter by his side.
Born on June 12, 1934, in Racine, Wisconsin, Jack was the son of the late Charles and Agnes Gayegian. He graduated from William Horlick High School in Racine in 1952 and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Jack relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the 1960s, where he met and married his beloved wife, the late Lyndal (Ludwig), in October 1967. Together, they had one daughter, Jacklyn. The family settled in Boynton Beach in 1972, where Jack and Lyndal became active and cherished members of the community. Their marriage spanned 40 wonderful years until Lyndal's passing in 2007.
Jack was an avid fisherman and fulfilled his passion by owning and operating Boynton Fisherman Supply for 35 years, until his retirement in 2021. As a small business owner, he was deeply involved in the Boynton Beach Kiwanis Club, organizing the club's annual fishing tournaments for many years.
In addition to his love of fishing, Jack was an accomplished bowler, achieving the rare feat of two perfect 300 games in 1996 and 2004. He also enjoyed dancing, cruising, and cheering for his favorite teams, the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Jacklyn Gyoerkoe (Kevin), two grandsons, Jacob and Kody Gyoerkoe, his girlfriend, Marilyn Yerich, his brother-in-law, Steve Ludwig (Patti), and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lyndal, his parents, Charles and Agnes, his brother, Colonel Hyko Gayikian, his sisters, Marion Paparagian and Elsie Hardy, and his brother-in-law, William Ludwig.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Boynton Memorial Chapel, followed by inurnment at 1:00 p.m. at the South Florida National Cemetery. A reception hosted by the family will follow.
