IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack P.
Mongato
October 6, 1921 – October 29, 2020
Jack P. Mongato, age 99, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2020 at his home in Boynton Beach. He was Born October 6, 1921 in Gloversville NY. He moved to South Florida in September of 1978.
His Family was his life. From Sunday dinners to all the Holidays. We all went to Grandpa's house; it was the one constant in all of our lives. Sunday dinners and attendance by the entire family around the table was a must. A good friend to all. Loved by all who knew him. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone.
My father was always there for us. Loved his family, golfing, playing cards and cooking.
He is survived by his 4 children Rosena DaRin, Vincent Mongato (Nancy), Salvatore Mongato, Virginia DeMott (Dan).
Eight Grandchildren Alicia Puglisi (Angelo), Jacqueline Conklin (Steve), Shanna Rix (Dave), Daniel DeMott (Erica), Eric DeMott, Nicholas DeMott (Brea), Lacey Mongato (Jeff),
JT White (Kayla). Eleven Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Josephine Mongato, 5 Sisters and one Brother.
Jack was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. where he played Trumpet in the military Band. After returning from the service and marrying his bride he was a certified glove cutter and then a meat cutter. He then opened a grocery store and meat market (Mongato's Prospect Food Market) with his Brother Joe. Also a restaurant owner in Florida, Burger Shack. He tried retiring about 20 years ago but found it to be overrated – went back to working 2 days a week until into his 90's
Dad, we really wanted you to celebrate your 100 th Birthday. You gave us all and an example to live by. You are in our Hearts Forever!
