Obituary

James Carl "Papa" Dietrick Sr., 80, passed away on August 2, 2017 at
his home in Boynton Beach, FL. James was a native New Yorker
for 58 years.

He lived in the City of Amsterdam, where he lived with his parents,
Carl and Katherine Dietrick, and his brother Robert Dietrick.  James
was an exceptional athlete who excelled and received many accolades
for his many accomplishments.  He graduated from Wilbur. H. Lynch High
School in 1955.

On September 7, 1957 he married the love of his life, Jacqueline
Stewart, and remained married until the time of his passing, almost 60
years.

James was a incredible and successful business man who had worked
tirelessly.  He loved his job in sales and leadership, it was his
passion.  Many times, when he could not sleep, he would go into work
at 2 or 3 a.m. just to get a early start on the task at hand. James
eventually went from an entry level position at Almor Wholesale
Distributor Company Inc. to the President and CEO.  He was blessed
enough to retire at the young age of 58 and move full time to Boynton
Beach, FL with his wife Jackie.

James was a staple in his New York community coaching countless
children in basketball, and football.  Also, continuing to play in
recreational sports leagues where he always received awards, honors,
and had an amazing time with his friends.  You could always spot James
driving in his beautiful Cadillac with the license plate initials
"1JCD".

James had an incredible personality that was second to none.  He was
so special it is difficult to describe in words. He also had a love,
and a marvelous ability to tell stories, as Papa was rarely quiet.
His charm was unmatched and he was a true inspiration to all and every
soul he met.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by every member of his
family, friends, and acquaintances, as he was an exceptional human
being that touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with in
different; however, monumental and immeasurable way.

James is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Dietrick, his four children
sons James (Cindy) Dietrick of Amsterdam, NY; Brian (Jennifer)
Dietrick of Boynton Beach, Fl; and Mark (Christine) Dietrick of
Amsterdam, NY; and his daughter Anne (James) Maxwell of Lantana,
Fl;six grandchildren Brandon (Sarah) Dietrick of Lake Worth, Fl; Breya
(Doug) Dawkins of Lantana, Fl; James (Liana) Maxwell Jr. of Boynton
Beach, Fl; Mark Dietrick of Charlotte, NC; Jaclyn Dietrick of
Amsterdam, NY; Amanda Mullarkey of Amsterdam, NY; Ryan Mullarkey of
Amsterdam, NY; and Erik Dietrick of Boynton Beach, Fl;  six great
