James R.
Gilbride
February 21, 1944 – November 1, 2024
Our beloved James R. Gilbride, age 80, was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 21st, 1944 to Alice and Charlie Gilbride. After a long loving life, he suddenly passed away on Friday November 1st, 2024, All Saints' Day, in Boynton Beach, Florida with his family by his side.
James will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Lipinski) Gilbride, daughters Cindy Gilbride, Doreen (Gilbride) Hardin and husband Damion Hardin. Also included in his family are Marcia Inniss and Rich and Jan Lipinski from Anchorage, Alaska.
Jim was a proud graduate of Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York followed by serving as a sergeant in the US Army in Germany from 1967 to 1969. After that he was a terminal manager at Apex Trucking in Secaucus, New Jersey for 25 years which he loved very much until he retired to Florida in 1993.
While in Manalapan, New Jersey he coached girls soccer and won the WAGS tournament in 1985. He loved to talk to people, sing and play guitar, gardening, golf, casino, an avid Mets and Yankees fan, cruising, family gatherings and chocolate. Most recently his favorite activity was COPS where he was a sergeant.
A Veteran's honor service is scheduled at the South Florida National Cemetery for the immediate family.
