James Edward Timmons "JET", passed away on May 23, 2014, devoted husband of wife Doris Elizabeth who preceded him in death on January 6, 2014 after 47 years of marriage. James was a caring father and is survived by his two sons Andrew (Connie) and James (Kathleen); his three brothers, Charles (Leah), Paul (Anka), & Patrick; his beloved grandchildren, Dewayne, Stacy, James, Brian, Elaina, & Nicolas; and great grandchildren: James, Dalton, Morgan, Christie and Gavin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. James was born in Ossining, NY, April 24, 1926 and was the son of Charles and Mary (Ryan) Timmons. He was 88. James was a Veteran of WWII and served with the U.S. Navy from 1943- 46 in Pensacola, Fl. James worked for the railroad in Croton NY for 43 years and retired in1988. James was a native of Westchester County NY , but lived in Boynton Beach for the past 25 years, where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Worth and a 50 year veteran of the Boy Scouts of America, where he loved volunteering. James never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert, Joseph, and Thomas, and daughter Mary Virginia. Visiting hours will be held 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday, May 29, 2014. The Funeral will be celebrated 9:30amFriday, May 30,2014 at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Worth. Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lane 1.
