Age 86 of Delray Beach, FL died April 1, 2009. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on April 8, 1922 to Earl and Frances (Dodge) Sponnable. Jane graduated from Wheelock College, Boston, MA with a BS Degree in Education and went on to obtain an MS from Oneonta State Teachers College in NY. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teacher's Association and the Jonathan Dickenson Chapter, DAR. Jane had been very active in her community having been a volunteer at Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boynton Beach, FL since 1978 where she was involved in the Bethesda Memorial Fund, Inc. and the Auxiliary Bethesda Memorial Fund. She was a member of the Delray Beach Woman's Republican Club, the Delray Beach Public Library Association, the Delray Beach Historical Society and Delray Beach's Old School Square.
Jane is survived by her son, Robert (Kathleen) McAndrew III of Richmond, VA; her daughter, Margaret Pundt of St. Petersburg, FL; two stepsons, William Timm and Donald Timm; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 5pm, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach. Those who wish may make contributions to the Bethesda Memorial Fund, 2815 S. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
