Obituary

Jean F. Dyer, 85 passed away on July 25" after a long, healthy life. Her health began to decline over the last two years and she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Daughter to the late Raymond and Hazel Foltz, she was born and raised in Washington Boro, Pennsylvania. Jean graduated from Penn Manor High School and went to work at Penn Dairies where she met her husband Devonde. They were married in May 1956 and in April 1963 they moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida where she went to work for the City of Lighthouse Point for the next 31 years. During those years she held the positions of Financial Supervisor, Municipal Court Clerk and Building Department Supervisor until she retired in February 1995. Jean became the Bookkeeper at Citrus Cove Elementary School in Boynton Beach for the next 13 years. During that time she also was the Bookkeeper at her church, Faith United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach until her husband passed and she finally retired for good in January 2011.
Jean's interests included attending almost every sporting event that her sons and grandchildren ever participated in. After they all completed their activities in high school and college, she followed her son Scott's alma mater, the University of Miami Hurricanes. Attending many seasons of football home games as well as traveling the country to their bowl games. Later in life she enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles, but her most cherished possession was the love of her friends, family and faith.
