Joan D'Auria (nee Nascarella), 76, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on September 7 th , in Del Ray Beach, Florida. She was the beloved wife of Raymond D'Auria for 53 years; loving mother of John and his wife, Carol, Vanessa Ciprianni and her husband Michael; cherished grandmother of Matthew, Dana, Frankie, and Mia.
Mrs. D'Auria was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, graduated from Misericordia Nursing School in the Bronx and later received a Master's Degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She went on to a very successful 40-year career in nursing which included various leadership positions in hospitals and healthcare organizations in the New York City Area. Joan also taught classes at St. Joseph's College. Joan loved cooking, the arts, music and was an avid reader in many clubs. At retirement, she enjoyed traveling and golf. Joan loved to help others – she always wanted to be there for family and friends, she was extremely close to her children and grandchildren who were the world to her.
A Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at St. Thomas More Church, Boynton Beach.
A Graveside Service will take place 11:15 am Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth (LANE 1).
