Joan L. Van Allen, 76, of Boynton Beach, passed away Friday February 10, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born in Flushing, New York and moved to Miami, Florida in 1959. She lived in Century Village in West Palm Beach for 14 years enjoying a very active lifestyle. She was a long time member of the Italian American Club making group trips to Biloxi, Mississippi and Las Vegas, Nevada. She was an avid bingo, card and game player. She was a fun person who enjoyed life to its fullest spending time in JCC regularly participating in karaoke and dancing. She moved to Vero Beach in 2008 to be near her immediate family who came first in her life. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Marilyn and Anthony Scragg along with her loving niece Cheri. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Van Allen of Lake Placid, Florida.
A private service will be held in Lake Placid, Florida.
