John Lee Rautio, 79, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Friday October 10, 2008 after several years of adverse health. John was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 27, 1929 and moved to Lake Worth, Florida in 1957. John graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 1966 with a BA degree and was awarded an MA degree in 1967. John was a retired science and foreign language teacher who taught for the Palm Beach County School Board until his retirement. John was a generous, kind soul, filled with a love for his friends, life and learning. There was no limit to his quest for knowledge or his desire to share it with his students. John is predeceased by his parents John A. Rautio and Lydia Ahl Rautio. John will be missed and remembered by Marilyn, his wife of thirty-four years, and a large family of friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 3pm-4pm at Boynton Memorial Chapel. A religious service will follow the visitation at 4pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal rescue organization.
