Obituary

Johnston "John" Andrew Zuccala, was born in Palm Beach County and grew up in Boynton Beach till he joined the Navy at age 17. After his term ended he remained in the San Fransisco Bay area for 8 more years.

There he developed a passion for music and was a well known local DJ at some of San Fransisco's most popular nightclubs in the electronic music scene. He also fell in love with snowboarding at Lake Tahoe, CA.

He retuned to the Delray/Boynton Beach area to help care for his grandmother Betty Johnston, as they were extremely close.
John started a successful carpentry business and was known as "John the Crown Moulding Guy". His "Expert Trim Carpentry" work can be seen in million dollar homes across Palm Beach County, as well as in the homes of friends and family here. Every client, associate or company he ever worked with, raves about his professionalism, detail and skilled, beautiful work. Being so skilled and creative, he was always re-designing his apartment and helping out his family with handy work around the house.

Growing up, John enjoyed drawing, painting, was exceptional at math and science and loved animals. He has a way with animals that comforted even the toughest of them.

He loved tennis, skateboarding, BMX bikes, four wheeling and other X-sports. Anything he did, he was a born natural and excelled at.

He took a yearly trip to Park City Utah, continuing to enjoy his love of snowboarding. Here in Boynton Beach, with no mountains to ride, John took to A1A. He became a cyclist and quickly worked up to going 80 miles in one day! He rode with large groups as well as solo on the beautiful long stretch of coastal road.

John had a natural ability to make anyone laugh and enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends and family growing up. As an adult, subtle silliness was more his style. Always clever and witty, if he wasn't saying or doing something to make you laugh, he had a way of looking at you to let you in on the inside jokes constantly streaming in his creative mind. He had such love in his heart, never wanting anyone to feel sad, he would fake falling down, or actually fall down and get hurt just to make you laugh and cheer you up if he thought it would make you feel better.

John is survived by his parents Martha Johnston, Drew Zuccala, Joann Zuccala. Grandparents Larry Zuccala, Edith Zuccala, Ethel Marx. Sisters Elizabeth Johnston, Lindsey Zuccala, Lacey Zuccala and brother Daniel Perry.

He will be missed by all and loved through out eternity. May you rest in peace.
