Joseph H. Larnaitis, aged 80, of Delray Beach passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family. "Sonny" was born in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Helen Larnaitis and grew up on 33rd Street in Bayridge with his sister Joan. He attended St. Michael's Elementary School. At 17, he entered the US Marine Corp and served for 4 years. He spent many years as a bartender in Manhattan and eventually retired to Massapequa Park, NY. In 1999 he and Lynne moved to Delray Beach, FL where they enjoyed retired life at the Hard Rock Casino, the Isle Casino, cruising and playing golf.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Evelyn; his stepdaughter, Kathi Reed; his step-grandsons Jimmy Reed (husband Gordon Merkle); and Jamie Levy (Jodi); his nephew Brian Hughes (Margaret); nieces Kery D'Amico (Philip) and Mary DeSilvestri (Joseph). He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen Larnaitis, his sister Joan and his niece Regina Cassera (Joseph). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 West Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33436. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00pm Thursday July 20, 2017 at St. Thomas More RC Church, 10935 S Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436.
