Mr. Pontrello, 84, of Boynton Beach, died Thursday afternoon, April 21, 2011. He had been a resident here for the last 23 years coming from Oceanside, LI, NY. Mr. Pontrello was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the New York National Guard.
Survivors include his wife Louise; two sons, Joseph Pontrello of Boynton Beach and Benjamin Pontrello and his wife Cammie of Austin, TX; and three grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, and Nicholas.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, with interment to follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-7 PM at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, with a Prayer service at 6:30 PM. Those who wish may make donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 in his memory.
