Joyce Claire Spriggs ,age 90, of Boynton Beach Florida, died Tuesday January 30, 2024 at her home in Leisureville of Boynton Beach Florida. A Funeral mass will held at St. Marks Church on Monday February 5th at 11am.
Joyce was born September 27, 1944, in Bronx New York. She was the daughter of the late John L. Dedrick and Irene A. Dedrick(Link). Joyce graduated from Saint Anthony's Grammer School and Aquinas Hall High School in Bronx New York. She worked for Chase Manhattan bank and later as a floral designer for various flower shops. She and her husband Russell Spriggs lived in Monmouth Beach, NJ for 48 years. She was a member of the Church of the Precious Blood and served on the Rosary Alter Society and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Monmouth Beach Fire Department. She and her husband enjoyed raising birds, traveling, rockhounding, reading, crafts,and she had a great love of photography.
Joyce and Russ retired to Leisureville in Boynton Beach Florida where she volunteered for Caring Neighbors and the Leisureville Flea Market. She belong to many clubs Wagon Wheels, New Jersey Club, Wildflowers, Book Club, New England Club, Pennsylvania Club, Long Island Club. Joyce greatly enjoyed cards, games, and friends. She was a member of St. Marks Church in Boynton Beach where she was also a member of the council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her three children, son Russell S. Spriggs and wife Jeanne Spriggs of Spirit Lake, ID, son Douglas G. Spriggs of Palm City, FL, and daughter Laurie S. Hatcher and husband Thomas M. Hatcher of Columbus, MS; her grandchildren Christine Smoyer and husband Eric, Thomas M. Hatcher Jr. and Russell L. Hatcher and much loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Saint Marks Church of Boynton Beach or Caring Neighbors, 1007 Ocean Drive, Boynton Beach, Florida 33426.
