Kay Otto, 95, a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at her home in Boynton Beach, FL. She was born April 24, 1920, in Wheeling WV, the daughter of Ross and Grace (Haudenschield) Hamilton. She graduated from Wellsburg High School, Wellsburg, WV, and attended Bethany College.
Kay worked as a secretary at Hazel Atlas Glass Company in Wheeling, WV, and served as Executive Secretary to the President at Hammond Bag Company in Wellsburg, WV. She married her husband of 67 years, Arch "Tom" Otto, on August 31, 1946. In 1971 Kay and Tom relocated from Wellsburg, WV, to Mt. Prospect, IL, and in 1985 they retired to Palm Beach Leisureville in Boynton Beach, where she was active in the Ladies Golf League and We Care, and enjoyed the companionship of the couple's many friends.
Kay was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking, bowling, and gardening. But what she loved most was spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
Kay is survived by her daughters Alison Otto of Nashville, Tenn., and Heather Otto of Tucson, Ariz., son-in-law Mike Liddicoat and granddaughter Kathleen Reisner of Flagstaff. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Arch "Tom" Otto, her son, Alan Thomas Otto of Chicago, parents, and siblings Jeannette Murphy and Robert Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm. on Aug. 30th at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abe's Garden Alzheimer's and Memory Care Center of Excellence, 115 Woodmont Blvd, Nashville TN 37205.
