Obituary

Kathryn Sue Stewart Verny , age 102 of Boynton Beach, Florida, entered into rest on September 1, 2021

Kathryn is survived by her son Frederick Verny and daughter Rebecca Payner. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew (Donna) Payner and Ian (Toni) Payner and five great-children, Zoe, Jacob, Michael, Ryan, and Christopher.
Kathryn left her childhood home in Birmingham, Alabama to wed the love of her life, Frederick Verny, Sr.  They began their journey together in New Jersey. Before long, numerous company transfers ensued to Minnesota, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, West Virginia, and finally to Florida. Kathryn took pleasure in decorating  and sourcing antiques for each of her new houses  and  in  creating  dinners with food indigenous to that state.
After her children were raised, she worked with her husband in their insurance agency in Ft. Lauderdale. They lived in  the Rio Vista neighborhood where they rented out their garage apartment to the Bellsouth telephone operators.
Kathryn loved her church and her faith. She and her husband were instrumental in establishing a Young at Heart group within the church. They worked weekly to make sandwiches for children and to collect food and bread for donation    to area food agencies.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed forever.
