Obituary

Kenneth Thomas Forziati, Sr., 86, died on April 3, 2018 at home in Boynton Beach, Florida, surrounded by his family. Ken was born May 24, 1931 in North Bergen, New Jersey, to Cono (Nicholas) and Lillian Amanda (née Hoppe) Forziati. He grew up in North Bergen and Cliffside Park, New Jersey, before raising his family in Hillsdale, New Jersey.

Ken's passions in life were his family, his music, and teaching. His long career as a math teacher at Bergenfield High School and later at Palm Beach Community College touched the lives of thousands of students. He loved to travel, taking numerous memorable trips with his beloved wife of 49 years, Judith Ann (née Lewis). He always had a pencil on hand to complete his daily crossword and cryptoquip, often tucking it into the book he was reading on his daily trips to the beach. While his iPad was regularly set up playing several simultaneous games of Words with Friends and Scrabble, he especially loved to socialize in person over an afternoon drink, a good meal, or a game of cards. And he was always willing to dazzle friends and strangers alike with his beautiful piano repertoire, which ranged from jazz standards to classical music, as well as his own original compositions. He was especially proud of his original score for "Lizzy Strada", a musical comedy based on the play Lysistrata by Aristophanes.

Ken is survived by his wife Judy; his children: Kenneth Thomas Jr. and his wife Sharon, Paul Anthony and his wife Nicole, and Michael Lewis and his wife Kim; his three grandchildren: Emily Rose, Amalia Rose, and Cono Joseph; his younger brother Alan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. His older brother Anthony and younger sister Anita both predeceased him.

Ken was a man of deep faith. His family is comforted knowing that his suffering is over and that he will spend eternity in heaven, reunited with his parents, grandparents, siblings, and God his Maker.
