Hoff, Kenneth W., 89 of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015. Formerly of Chicago, Illinois and Menomonie, WI, Ken had been a local resident since 1969. Mr. Hoff is survived by his loving family: wife, Nicoletta of Boynton Beach, FL; four children - daughters, Joanne Hertel, Joyce Cory and Jan Sarlo; son, Michael Hoff; six - grandchildren, Stephanie (Nick) Morfogen, Nicole (Bob) Mugavero, Kristen (Peter) Mack, Kenneth (Sandra) Hoff, Angela Sarlo, and Kate (Kevin) Tasillo; and many great-grandchildren – John, Hanna, Niko, Joey, Luca, Alex, Christopher, Austin, Adam, Josh and Chloe.
Born in Menomonie, WI, August 27, 1926. Ken served in WWII stationed overseas. As a young man, Ken moved to Chicago, IL where he met Nicoletta. It was in Chicago that he opened several Five and Dime stores, known as ValueVille. Ken was a very smart and successful business man who was involved in his community and several charity functions. Ken moved his family to Boca Raton, FL in 1969. At that time, Ken opened the famous, Boton 5 and 10 in Royal Palm Plaza. Many local residents fondly remember the Boton as being a landmark in the early days of the City of Boca Raton. As the patriarch of his beautiful family, Ken loved taking everyone on family vacations, hosting the "famous" Sunday dinners for the family and any of their friends, and sharing Nana's baked goods with the world. Ken loved to share his memories through stories of his childhood and time in WWI, he also enjoyed reading and golfing.
Visitation will be held 10am – 12pm, Friday, October 16th at Boynton Memorial Chapel – 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33426. The Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately following visitation (12pm) at the funeral home, entombment will be at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Boca Raton.
