Leticia Miranda DeCanio entered into rest on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was born in Havana, Cuba to Angel Augusto Miranda Valcarcel and Maria Teresa de Urrutia y Nadal. She is survived by her son, Salvatore DeCanio of Atlantis, Florida and her daughter Maria-Teresa DeCanio Miller of Orchard Park, New York, as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as three nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore DeCanio.
Leticia was a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher at Westgate Elementary School, in West Palm Beach for thirty years. She loved all of her students over her many years in education, and made it her mission to make a difference in their lives.
She loved her many kitties over the years, her most recent being her cat, Julia. She loved animals and children, often saying "Ay! Que lindo!" or "Ay! Que linda!" whenever she saw them in her day to day life.
In lieu of Flowers, Letty had requested that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. followed by an entombment at Boca Raton Mausoleum at 1:30 p.m. The family has extended the invitation for friends and family to meet them at Benvenuto Restaurant, located at 1730 N Federal Hwy, Boynton Beach, FL 33435, following the cryptside service.
