IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda
Rex
September 28, 1940 – August 1, 2020
Linda Louise (Kiselewski) Rex passed away peacefully while holding the hand of her loving husband, Raymond R. Rex Jr., of nearly 60 years (9/17/60) at home on August 1, 2020. She would have been 80 in September. Along with her caring husband she leaves behind 3 fabulous children; Suellen J. Rex Lisi (husband, Mike), Raymond R. Rex III (wife, Dee), Donna L. McCabe (husband, Ed); 7 endearing grandchildren; Tiffany L. Lussier, Kyle M. Lussier (Courtney), Raymond R. Rex IV (Alison), Joseph C. Rex (Erin), Kayleigh F. McCabe, Hunter J. McCabe, Riley R. McCabe; and 8 fascinating great-grandchildren; 2 wonderful sisters, Jane Lewandowski (Ed), and Susan Baez (Jose); nephews, cousins, and friends galore.
Linda was born in Holyoke, MA. She lived in Hadley, MA on the family (Wanczyk) farm as she attended (1st-12 th grades) at St. Michael's Catholic School and received an associate degree from Northampton Commercial College. Linda spent 4 years of her young life at the Shriner's Hospital in Springfield, MA fighting (and winning!) polio. Linda met the love of her life, Ray, at an Air Force mixer at Westover Air Force base in Chicopee, MA. They were married a couple years later at Holy Rosary Church now called Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley. They started their family in Chicopee, MA then went to Oklahoma for Ray's career but only after a short time returned to her childhood residence. They then built their own home in Hadley to raise the kids. Linda was highly active in The Mother's Club, Avon, and carting her kids to and from dance classes, games and practices, all the while holding down a full-time job at the UMass Bursar's office. Linda and Ray loved to travel and yet loved spending time at home with the kids. She gave her husband and children all her love and they gladly embraced it. In 1986 Linda and Ray moved to Boynton Beach, FL. The "children" were grown and started having families of their own and besides, it is warmer in Florida. With Linda by his side, Ray started his own accounting firm that is still in the family today. She became a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas Moore and continued to serve for over 25 years. She also volunteered at a local nursing home, helping those that could not help themselves and providing them with holy communion. You could feel the love emanating from her, with her sense of humor, her forever smile, her warm hugs, and caring words. But do not let that fool you, Linda was also a sassy spitfire when she needed to be. She may have been small in stature but with her quick wit and room brightening smile she was a formable person.
She will be missed by many. But when anyone thinks of Linda Louise Rex they will smile!
